Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale in Sydney

I have just registered to participate in the first Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale!

I first read about it on the PPK and then I contacted the NSW Vegan Society who said I was free to organise it as they have their hands full organising the Vegan Expo. This happens to be on this Sunday, May 3rd, so get your booties down to Petersham's Town Hall!

Anyhoo, I asked if anyone would be interested in helping out and got some positive responses from drossolalia and Leigh( zuckerbaby ) as well as some people who are part of the Aussie Veg*n facebook group.

It was quite difficult to find a venue as so many of the markets now ask for you to organise your own insuarance, to book months in advance or to commit to a few months, eek! But thanks to Leigh we have now found the perfect spot, the Newtown Markets, held on the last Saturday of every month, so our stall will be Saturday June 27! We'll be there early in the morning until the afternoon with a wide range of vegan baked goods for sale.
Also, the proceeds will be going to a charity, which we haven't decided on yet ;)

I'll blog about any changes as well as a reminder closer to the date :) If you want to get involved check out the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale website for more information as well as registration form and to see who has already signed up.

Thank you *so much* for participating and supporting and promoting the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale! We really appreciate it!

For those thinking of participating:

A - Awesome

B - Best to register at http://www.veganbakesale.org/veganbakesale/vbs-signup.html once you're near 90% sure you're in, even if some details aren't worked out, so we can let others know and be inspired.

C - Crunch time: You should probably get your bake sale venue chosen and reserved soon; once that's out of the way, the fun stuff can begin

Nice job organizing! We're doing one at the end of June too, as a fundraiser. Should be fun.

You should run a stall at Winter Magic Festival at Katoomba. Tens of thousands of peope attend that. I'd love to see all the cruelty free festival stallholders turn up there and show the general public how good vegan food is. I still think people think we eat grass or alien food.
