VeganMoFo2012 Day 22: Peanut Butter Squares

VeganMoFo2012 Week Four has begun! I've been out all arvo/evening and seeing as I type up my posts the night before I will keep this short and very sweet.

Peanut Butter Squares

A friend recently mentioned peanut butter and chocolate and for some reason I couldn't get the idea of that combination out of my head. Then another friend suggested I try this recipe and it would cure my pb-choc craving!

The amount of sugar and the fact that there are two types was a bit scary but I went with it. I used vegan margarine in place of butter and Enjoy Life vegan chocolate chips.

These were super dooper sweet and at first I found that really off-putting but then I cut these squares into quarters and enjoying just a little bit at a time was actually really nice as the peanut butter and dark chocolate helped to balance out the sugar. I still think they could do with less and I have another recipe I'd like to try out soon.

What's your favourite way to combine peanut butter and chocolate?

Ha ha. :) And my favorite peanut butter chocolate combo is also the simplest - a scoop of peanut butter on a spoon, and chocolate chips sprinkled on top. There are so many delicious peanut butter and chocolate recipes I do not think I can choose one favorite!
